Three jeeps were made by Marx for the 12 inch action figure series:- A military Jeep similar to GI Joe's
- Red utility Jeep with horse trailer
- Yellow 'Mountain Masher' Jeep for the camping set
The Western jeeps never fit into the Cowboy timeline I had in my head as a kid. But Marx clearly intended for them to be part of the Johnny universe from early on.
Military Jeep
Made from a OD Green styrene plastic, The Jeep has a painted white star and US Army on the hood. The tires are marked with the Marx name. They are about 21 inches long and other versions my come with a trailer and searchlight on a tripod that fits in the trailer.They are worth about $45 loose and $100 with box

Trailer Jeep
Made from a red styrene plastic, This Jeep is unpainted The red jeep comes with a black plastic windshield and tires with white hubcapsThese red jeeps are worth about $35 loose and $150 with box set. They are made using the same mold as the Military jeep. There has been speculation that the red Stony footlocker may have been intended for this set but never made it past the design/prototype phase. They came in a Sears Exclusive set in 1966 with the trailer set and Thunderbolt and Johnny. Or in just a Jeep and Trailer set in a Photo Front / Blue litho back box.

Made from yellow styrene plastic, This Jeep is unpainted The yellow jeep comes with a black plastic windshield, hood, and tires with white hubcaps. The yellow stripe on the hood is a sticker that came with the set. Also in that sticker set was the round Mountain Masher logo sticker. The Camping Set included the vinyl and plastic furniture, plastic cooking utensils and plastic fire shown in the back of the jeep.These yellow jeeps are worth a little more than the red ones at about $45 loose and $150 with box set. They are made using the same mold as the Military jeep but with different tire molds. They came in a Camping set in 1975. It's been reported that these yellow jeeps also showed up in the Jeep and Trailer set in a blue litho box.
