Tepees

Marx made three different tepees to go with the JW world. I'm not sure of the order of the production but here they are:
- Vinyl, large tepee with base and wooden poles
- Cardboard, small tepee, two piece that came with Chief Cherokee in his With Tepee sets
- Cardboard, larger tepee, one piece that came with the FAF Ft. Apache playset
Right now, I know that Tepee's were made in the US, Spain and the UK.
US Tepees - Vinyl
Made from a thin sheet of white vinyl, the 'true to scale' tepee is the one most folks associate with Johnny West The US version was issued in either the Fort Apache Fighters box alone or as part of the Sears exclusive Stormcloud/Geronimo playset. It has Red, Yellow and Black designs, a lace for the opening closure, 3 base pieces and six wooden dowls for poles. These usually sell for $65-$90 each. The StormCloud / Geronimo set can sell for as much as $600.

Made from a thin sheet of tan cardboard, these tepees are really too small for the figures but were designed mainly for scenery.Two versions exist, the larger two piece tepee that came with the Chief Cherokee With Tepee figure sets shown here. And a smaller, one piece tepee . (pics to follow) The Smaller cardboard tepees are more common and can be purchased seperately for about $25. The Two Piece (Chief Cherokee set) tepees are very hard to find and will likely run you $50-75 to buy seperately.

Spainish Tepee (Tienda) - Vinyl
Made from a thin sheet of white vinyl.The Spanish version is just like the UK version. It has Red, Yellow, Black and Blue designs, a lace for the opening closure, 3 base pieces and six wooden dowls for poles. I have never seen the box design but is likely to resemble the Cowboy Black figure box design by Spain or the UK Sunburst design. The company that produced for Spain is SuaySport, SA.
